Overview

As many countries are integrating much-needed renewable energy sources to their power grids, the popularity of mobile gas turbines has been exponentially growing since it helps to secure and stabilize grids while providing best-in-class backup power generation.

The latest generation turbine technologies can work off of variety of gas sources: pipeline-derived gas, stranded gas, flare gas, CNG or LNG. The systems can ramp up to maximum output in as little as 10 minutes once installed, which minimizes the risk of an unstable grid when other energy supplies are interrupted. In addition to fuel flexibility, the newest mobile gas turbines run much cooler than older technology, providing significant environmental and cost savings over time.

As the world continues to see increasing carbon reduction targets, Superior Performance Energy is committed to helping its customers to meet those goals. Besides the operational fuel savings, utilization of a mobile gas-powered turbines will provide an average of 20% carbon savings from operating on natural gas when compared to diesel fuel. When powered with Renewable Natural Gas or Biogas from very low carbon intensity source, like dairy farm or land-field, the project can reach a negative Carbon footprint due to environmental attributes of the Biogas used.

Power2go is a portable power plant used for power generation using gas turbine generator.  The current production offers two capacity options: 6MW or 35MW. Power2Go can use wellhead gas, LNG, or CNG to generate onsite power at any remote location accessible by a truck.

The fully enclosed trailer also contains power switching apparatus, full cable network, auxiliary equipment, control panel, and can be configured for optional remote monitoring. Multiple units can be attached to each other or the grid to increase electricity output needed to fulfill increased power generation situational needs.

The 35MW Power2Go trailers has been used in the USA since February 2022 to generate electricity primarily to power electric hydraulic fracturing operations in Oil and Gas industry.

How It Works?!

Blue Hills plant in Bahamas Case Study!

The TM2500 has been installed at BPL’s Blue Hills plant and can provide enough energy for between 12,000 and 18,000 residential customers. Bahamas Power & Light (BPL) has installed a GE’s TM2500 mobile aero-derivative gas turbine that can supply up to 34MW of additional energy to the island suitable to provide enough energy for between 12,000 and 18,000 residential customers. The company stated that the unit was installed and commissioned in just 42 days.
